What is GIBEX?

The Global Institute for BioExploration (GIBEX) is a global research and development network promoting ethical, natural product-based bioexploration. GIBEX explores Earth's biodiversity for the natural product-based solutions to improving human health and wellness. GIBEX is based at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and partners with many universities in the US and abroad.

Our goal is to foster international natural-product based research, sustainable development and biodiversity conservation. Our programs focus on enabling developing countries to explore their own biodiversity through transformational Screens-to-Nature and Rapid Metabolome Extraction and Storage technologies and on promoting basic science related to beneficial natural products.
